This picture / painting was purchased in Weymouth on the south cost of England.
It looked to me to be an original watercolour but needed some investigating if possible.
As there was a CROFT STUDIO, Isle-of Skye, Scotland, UK, stamp on the back, I decided to write , hoping to clarify its origin.
It was great that her relatives at Croft Studio took the time and trouble to make a prompt reply and the content is extracted , in part , here...
"Thanks for forwarding an image of your otter and pleased you have enjoyed it on your wall for a while! Daisy was a few days short of her 100th birthday when she died in 2014 and we worked together here for over 40 years. She would be delighted to know people still admire her work and we regularly sell her prints and cards in the studio. "
Additionally details of my picture have been confirmed and the text is..
" I can confirm what you have was hand printed by Daisy's son Donald (my husband) using a silk-screen here in the studio, then painted in watercolour by Daisy. She drew the otter and Donald made the original silk screen. It dates from 1980's "
So, it is unusually, to my mind, both a PRINT and ORIGINAL..hhmmm..
